MedKeep Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 3, 2026

Summary. MedKeep does not collect any data from you. All records you create stay only on the device where you created them. We have no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, and no third-party services integrated into the app.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:

Your health records, medical history, or any data you enter into MedKeep
Photos you attach to records
Family member information (names, dates of birth, blood types, allergies, insurance details)
Device location, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers (including IDFA)
Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral data
Email addresses, account credentials, or any contact information

We do not use cookies, trackers, or any form of behavioral tracking.

How MedKeep Works

MedKeep is a fully on-device application built with Apple's SwiftData framework. Data you enter is stored in a local database on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The application makes no network requests for data storage, synchronization, or analytics. There is no MedKeep server.

Apple's Role

When you download MedKeep from the App Store, Apple may collect aggregated download, rating, and crash statistics as described in Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive identifiable information through these channels.

Device Permissions

MedKeep requests two iOS permissions:

Photo Library — used only when you tap "Add Photo" inside a doctor visit. Selected photos are copied to MedKeep's local database. Photos never leave your device.
Notifications — used only to schedule local reminders for appointments and medications. Notifications are generated by your device and are not sent through any server.

You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings → MedKeep.

Your Data, Your Control

Because all records are stored on your device, you control them completely:

Export: Settings → Export All Data writes a JSON file you can save, AirDrop, or transfer between your own devices.
Delete: Settings → Delete All Data permanently removes everything from the device.
Uninstall: deleting the app from your device also deletes all records.

Children's Privacy

MedKeep is rated 13+. Because we collect no data from any user, the protections of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations are inherently satisfied — no parental consent is required for data we never receive. Parents and guardians may use MedKeep to track their children's health records as on-device personal notes.

Not a Medical Device

MedKeep is a personal record-keeping tool. It is not a regulated medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult licensed medical professionals for medical decisions.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how MedKeep handles data — for example, by adding optional cloud sync in a future version — we will update this policy and notify users via an in-app prompt before any change takes effect. We will not retroactively change the on-device-only model for records already in the app.
